This was 40 mins ago at the 40k mark, just about to climb Saddle Road. Moved up to 10th place!
Up at 5am after not really sleeping much, a Coconut Cashew Chocolate Chip Hammer Bar (the BEST pre race food). We were at the pier nice and early, and I felt really calm (wow!). We had so many great visits with every athlete we met and the usual pre race excitement. I set everything up…
Swim start and exit. The swim was tough for everyone, but Scott came out of the water in high spirits and feeling strong, and no sickness. And, I did mention to Lyle that the chickens at the road side had no puke to eat! Consistent and strong. Awesome crew members Scott has been going strong…
The first big hill is up, and over. Heading down shortly after, where the crew will meet him.
It was a tough swim for all the athletes, but Scott has just come out of the water, and looking strong!
The first swimmer is out of the water. Scott’s crew have his transition all set up, it will not be too long now.
I have an app, and can see that Scott is in the water making his way along the route. Lyle just messaged, and said he was around the 3.5km mark.
